The Central Bureau of Communication (CBC), Field Office, Nagpur, under the Ministry of Information & Broadcasting, Government of India, organised an awareness programme on Kargil Vijay Diwas-2026 and Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyan at Nagpur Madhyamik Vidyalaya, Katol Road, Nagpur, on Saturday.
Retired Captain Deepak Limse, the Chief Guest, paid tribute to the brave soldiers who made the supreme sacrifice during the Kargil War. Recounting inspiring episodes from the Kargil conflict, he highlighted the courage, discipline and patriotism of the Armed Forces and motivated students to serve the nation by embracing these values and considering a career in the Armed Forces. Shri Kishor Dada Jichkar, President of the School Management Committee and former Corporator, also addressed the gathering and urged students to uphold patriotic ideals and lead a drug-free life.
The programme commenced with the lighting of the ceremonial lamp, followed by a welcome address by Shri Saurabh Khekde, Field Publicity Officer. The CBC PRT Cultural Troupe presented patriotic dance performances and an impactful street play conveying the message of the Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyan. Students also took the Nasha Mukt Bharat Pledge and visited the NMBA Selfie Booth.
As a prelude to the programme, drawing and essay competitions on the themes of Kargil Vijay Diwas and Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyan were organised on July 24, 2026. Winners of the competitions were felicitated during the event for their outstanding performances.
The programme concluded with a vote of thanks by Shri Shubham Gudadhe, Publicity Assistant, followed by the National Anthem. The event witnessed enthusiastic participation from students, teachers, officials and invited guests, reaffirming the collective commitment to honour the nation’s heroes and realise the vision of a Nasha Mukt Bharat.
