Jubilant scenes unfolded at Samvidhan Square in Nagpur on Saturday as CJP workers and youth activists celebrated the announcement of Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan’s resignation. The celebration marked what protesters described as the victory of the nationwide students’ movement demanding accountability over the NEET paper leak issue.
Samvidhan Square, which emerged as a major hub of the agitation in central India, witnessed enthusiastic celebrations with workers beating dhol-tasha, distributing sweets, and raising slogans in support of students. Protesters said the resignation was the result of sustained public pressure and the collective voice of lakhs of students across the country.
For the past several days, Samvidhan Square has remained the focal point of the anti-NEET paper leak movement in Nagpur, where thousands of students and youth gathered daily to demand a fair investigation, strict action against those responsible, and protection of the future of aspiring candidates.
Celebrating the development, CJP workers said the resignation was a significant moral victory for the country’s youth and reaffirmed that democratic and peaceful protests can bring about accountability.
The celebrations continued with chants, drum performances, and the distribution of sweets among supporters and passersby at the iconic protest site.
