Unseeded Sachin Patil defeated second seed VVS Basanth in the men’s open singles semi-final in the tennis tournament organised during Khasdar Krida Mahotsav at Ram Nagar court, here on Monday.
In the thrilling semi-final, Patil won the first set against VVS Basanth 7-5. In the second set, Basanth using his experience regained the form and restored the parity winning it 7.5. The decider was keenly contested. Ultimately Patil recorded thrilling victory by winning the third set 7-5 in tie-breaker. In the final Patil will lock horns with Advait Agrawal who defeated Tanmay Siriah 6-2. 6-3.
