UP results will be surprising, BSP-SP will play crucial role in Govt formation: Mayavati

BSP chief and former Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Mayavati today asserted that the election results of her state will be surprising and BSP-SP combine will play a crucial role in forming the next government at the centre. UP which has 80- seats have always played an important role in the Central government formation in Delhi.

Addressing a public meeting here at the historic Kasturchand Park ground on Friday, Mayavati launched attack on both
Congress and BJP saying due to wrong policies, the Congress lost in some states. He called on the voters to ensure at no cost the BJP should return to power at the centre. BJP was indulging in +jumlebaji+and +choukidari+ slogans. BJP failed to deliver even one fourth of the promises.

She said BJP was not keen on implementing Mandal Commission recommendations and the developmental activities in BJP-RSS ruled states have come to a standstill. On demonetization, Mayavati said it has badly affected the business and trading community and overall it had affected the Indian economy.

Mayavati also accused both Congress and BJP of practicing corruption. The Congress  had indulged in Bofors deal and now the BJP led NDA government was embroiled in the controversy over corruption in Rafale fighter aircraft purchases.

She ridiculed the Congress promise of paying Rs 6000 per month to the poor and claimed that this was not permanent solution to the problem. If her party comes into power, they will provide employment to the poor in the government and semi-government sector.

Training her gun on Maharashtra government, Mayavati said the farmers were in distress in Vidarbha region and farmers suicides have remained abated.
