Youth killed in road mishap in Kanhan

A rashly driven Tata Indica car knocked 25-year-old youth to death near Kanhan River over bridge on Thursday night.

The deceased has been identified as Krishna Shivkumar Agutlewar. He was a resident of Badak Bulding, Kamptee.

According to the primary information, Krishna was returning home at around 11.30 pm on Thursday night when a recklessly driven Tata Indica car coming from wrong side dashed him from front.

The impact of the hit was so severe that Krishna fell off the bridge and died on the spot.

Contractor murdered over pending dues in Hudkeshwar

Sensation prevailed in Hudkeshwar area after a private contractor was reportedly murdered by two persons under the Hudkeshwar police.

The deceased identified as Shrikant Haribhau Wanjari (31), resident of Durgesh Nandini Nagar on Narsala road failed to return the money borrowed from the accused, which led in murder, said police.

Accused identified as Akash alias Vikky Bhosle, resident Dighori and Shailesh Kedar have been booked by Hudkeshwar police.

According to police source, the accused duo had kidnapped deceased from his house on May 5. They reportedly thrashed him with beer bottles, iron rods and also stabbed him, which resulted in his death.

Following the compliant of Sushant Haribhau Wanjari, Hudkeshwar cops have booked accused duo under relevant sections of the IPC and started further investigation.

ACB arrests Wadi Municipal Council president accepting Rs 20k bribe

Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) on Friday arrested Premnath Aatmaram Zade (49), President of Wadi Municipal Council red-handed while accepting bribe of Rs 20,000. Zade had demanded the money for releasing the pending dues of a Bedipeth based civil engineer.

According to sources, to clear his salary the 39-year-old complainant was taking rounds of Wadi MC from past four months. During which, he came in contact with the accused Zade, who promised to get his pending salary released in exchange of Rs 20,000.

Later, the Bedipeth based engineer filed a complaint with ACB on Thursday. After preliminary investigation, the sleuths of ACB laid trap on Friday morning in Wadi area.

As per the plan when the complainant handed over the bribe amount of Rs 20,000 to Zade, the ACB men hiding nearby pounced upon him and caught him red-handed accepting the bribe.
