AIIMS not following government policy; DBANSF

Recently, 20 vacancies were released for faculty posts on direct requirement basis by All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS). The seats were announced for various institutes for which the selection will be done on the basis of the interview.

However, Dr Babasaheb Ambedkar National Student Federation  (DBANSF)  alleged that AIIMS has not been following the reservation policy. According to DBANSF, the rules as per the government policy have not been followed by AIIMS for the reservations. AIIMS, in return have clarified that they have been continually following the roaster and reservation policies which is made for the scheduled tribe and scheduled caste(SC/ST).

When the members of DBANSF went through the advertisements which were recently released by AIIMS, the members saw only four seats for OBC and none for SC or ST in all the 20 recruitments. Atul Khobragade, president of DBANSF also mentioned that according to the Constitution, there should have been availed 15 % seats for SC’s and ST should have got 7.5%.
