Maharashtra Consumer Forum Appeals Govt to Direct Airlines to Refund Money for Cancelled Flights

After the outbreak of COVID-19 pandemic, the airlines had cancelled the flights. And passengers are really facing the brunt of it as many airline service companies refused to refund the booking amount paid by the passengers. In this regard,The Maharashtra Consumer Forum has received many complaints about the stubborn policy of the airlines.

As per information, the airlines have allowed customers to travel within a period of one year but they are not refunding the money. The airline should refund the money to customers who want refund, and give various packages to customers interested in travelling. If the customer cancels the flight ticket on their own,the airlines refund the rest of the amount as per cancellation rules.

But if the flight is cancelled or delayed, the airlines pay for it in full.In this regard,The Maharashtra Consumer forum has taken a stand that the passenger who wish to get refund, should be given their money back. And the forum has appealed to the Prime Minister,Civil Aviation Minister,Chief Minister of state and Tourism Minister that they should issue instructions to the airlines to refund the money of passengers.
