The Maharashtra forest department is celebrating Wildlife Week from October 1 to 7.The week will be inaugurated online by the hands of forest minister Sanjay Rathod and in the presence of Principal Secretary (forest) Milind Patankar, principal chief conservator of forests (head of the forest office)Dr.N.Rambabu and principal chief conservator of forest (wildlife) Nitin Kakodkar at 11 am on October 1.
As per information, on the first day, Haryana’s retired PCCF Dr.R.D.Jakati and wildlife expert Gopal Thosar will give presentation of conservation of vulture and Great Indian Bustard birds respectively. On October 2, additional principal chief conservator of forest (wildlife) Sunil Limaye will give presentation on struggle of wildlife for habitat.
Additional Principal Chief Conservator of forest and field director of Melghat Tiger Reserve MS Reddy will give presentation on Melghat forest management.APCCF (mangrove cell) Virendra Tiwari will give presentation on bio-diversity of sea coast. On October 3, chief conservator of forest and field director of Pench Tiger Reserve Dr.Ravikiran Govekar will guide on wild buffalo in Gadchiroli.The concluding function of wildlife week will be held on October 7.
