Energy Minister Energised Industries

A delegation of Joint Coordination Committee (JCC) consisting of Vidarbha Industries Association (VIA), MIDC Industries Association (MIA) Hingna, Butibori Manufacturers Association (BMA), Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) Vidarbha Region, Kalmeshwar Industries Association (KIA), Dalit Indian Chamber of Commerce & Industry (DICCI) Vidarbha Chapter and Laghu Udyog Bharati (LUB) Nagpur met with Dr. Nitin Raut, Minister for Energy, Government of Maharashtra at Vidarbha Industries Association (VIA) Nagpur today (on 14th June).

JCC discussed with Dr. Raut about Vidarbha Subsidy in detail along with sudden stopping of tariff incentives being provided to Vidarbha, Marathwada Uttar Maharashtra, D & D+ areas of Maharashtra.

During the meeting, the Minister directed MSEDCL officials to share the consumption & incentive related data for the past 2 years with VIA. Based on this information, VIA then expected to propose restructuring in  Vidarbha, Marathwada incentive scheme in a manner where the 1200 cr amount will last for a whole year and even small consumers can get benefitted.  

As per the suggestions given earlier to the Minsiter, VIA & JCC discussed on Putting a Cap per month per Consumer,  Separate fund to be provided by GOM for giving 75 paise for new industries & expansion as envisaged in circulars issued earlier. FAC incentive to be clubbed with the main incentive policy as FAC charges have become Zero, Restructuring of various slabs of incentives to be done due to withdrawal of 7% Power factor incentive by MERC, Benefit for MSME to be increased so that MSME’s can garner higher share in the total incentive scheme, 11 & 33 KV Connection to be merged as they have same tariff structure now unlike earlier. Most importantly, the Hon’ble Minister agreed that the May month incentive will not be lost and future bills would be generated with retrospective effect.  

Principal Secretary, Energy, GoM along with Directors and Sr. Officials of MSEDCL have joined the meeting online.  Suresh Rathi, President – VIA, Shashikant Kotharkar, Secretary – BMA, Nishchay Shelke, President – DICCI Vidarbha Chapter, Rakesh Surana, President – VPIA, Sachin Jain – Secretary – MIA, Hingna; Shrikant Dhondrikar – President, LUB (Nagpur Vibhag); R B Goenka – VP, VIA; Prashant Mohota, Chairman – VIA Energy Forum; Suresh Agrawal – Past President, VIA; Pravin Tapadia, Rohit Bajaj, Dr. Suhas Buddhe, Pankaj Bakshi, Girdhari Mantri, Pradeep Maheshwari were prominently present.
