On the internet outage tracker website Downdetector, nearly 4,000 users reported that their Jio connection was down.
In some areas, Jio services appear to be down for multiple users. This comes just a day after Facebook including WhatsApp and Instagram, experienced its “worst” global outage ever, with its entire suite of products, being unavailable for nearly six hours.
JioDown hashtag started trending on Twitter earlier today after multiple users took to the micro-blogging website to report connectivity issues with the Jio 4G network. For quick context, Jio is 4G-only which means that it does not offer any 2G and 3G services.

Jio network issues do not appear to be affecting all users. These appear to be dispersed in specific circles, but the number is increasing. On the internet outage tracker website Downdetector, nearly 4,000 users reported that their Jio connection was down.
The issue was first reported at 9.30 am on Wednesday morning, and started to peak in about an hour.
The numerous complaints suggest that there is a real connectivity problem, as most users experience call drops and are unable to connect. The outage appears to be widespread, with complaints centred around Delhi, Mumbai, Bengaluru, Indore, and Raipur, according to Downdetector’s map of reports.
The hashtag ‘JioDown’ is trending on Twitter today, with many users quoting Reliance Jio’s tweet about the Facebook outage, in which Jio stated that “it’s not the Internet.”
