A formal order to suspend former Mumbai Police Commissioner Param Bir Singh is likely to be issued on Thursday. The file for clearance of the order was on the table of the Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray.
Singh, who had levelled serious allegations against former Home Minister Anil Deshmukh, had proceeded on long leave after his transfer in March this years. He was summoned by the Enforcement Directorate and CBI for further enquiry. However, he continued eluding the summons and the court had declared him absconding. His application for pre-arrest bail was also rejected.

A couple of days back he had expressed his willingness to resume duties. However, he may not be allowed to do so. He is appearing before Chandiwal Commission, which is investigating into the issue.
Singh, therefore, is likely to be suspended from duty.
