India reported 2,86,384 new Covid-19 cases, 573 deaths in the last 24 hours

According to the Union health ministry bulletin on Thursday morning, India reported 2,86,384 new Covid-19 cases and 573 deaths in the last 24 hours. The country’s positivity rate increased from 16.16% to 19.59%.

The weekly positivity rate, on the other hand, stood at 17.75%.

India’s active cases remained at 2.2 million, accounting for 2202,472 infections, or 5.46 percent of total infections. Notably, the active case count has dropped by 20,546 in the last 24 hours.

According to today’s health bulletin, the total number of infections in the country has reached 40.37 million.

Kerala had the highest number of new cases among the states. According to the most recent available data, the southern state recorded 49,771 infections in a 24-hour period. Karnataka came in second with 48,905 new cases, while Maharashtra fell to third with 35,756 new cases.

According to the health bulletin issued on Wednesday evening, the national capital had 7,436 new infections. Meanwhile, more than 10,000 cases were reported in Andhra Pradesh, Rajasthan, Gujarat, and Uttar Pradesh.

Since yesterday, there have been 3,06,357 recoveries, bringing the recovery rate to 93.33 percent. So far, more than 37.6 million people have recovered from the disease.

In the last 24 hours, 14,62,261 tests were performed, and 22,35,267 people received their vaccine dose. According to health ministry data, this includes a total of 2,65,238 booster doses and 1,79,381 jabs in the 15-18 age group.
