Offline classes to resume in RTMNU affiliated colleges

Offline classes will now resume in the educational department of Rashtrasant Tukdoji Maharaj Nagpur University and affiliated colleges. Admissions will also be available at the university’s dormitory. Dr Raju Hivse, the university’s vice-chancellor, has issued an order in this regard. He has not stated whether or not vaccination is required for students.

Surprisingly, the university has not made immunisation mandatory for its faculty and staff. A few days ago, the state government issued an order to reopen educational facilities as well as make immunisation mandatory. As a result, all of the state’s universities have made two doses of the vaccine mandatory for students. Students who do not have a vaccine are not allowed to enter.

Vaccination was made mandatory for teachers and non-teaching staff as well. However, the varsity has not mentioned any such rule in its order. The order also does not men tion when the classes will start.

It must be noted here that the State government had issued an order in December 2021 given the spurt in cases of Covid-19 cases in which it had asked to start online classes from February 15.

Although the winter examinations of the uni versity were going on at that time. The exams were taken online. Now, the stu dents are waiting for the start of regular classes. Vice-chancellor Dr Raju Hivse could not be contact ed for his response on the issue.
