Dr. Rajesh Atal, well known Senior Critical care Physician and Consultant at Orange City Hospital & Research Institute and Swaraj Healthcare was installed as the President and Dr. Nandu Kolwadkar, Senior ENT Surgeon as Secretary of Academy of Medical Sciences in a glittering function on Sunday 24th July 2022 at Hotel Centre Point, Nagpur by the hands of Prof. Dr. Kapil Zirpe, Head Neuro Trauma Unit Grant Medical Foundation Ruby Hall Clinic, Pune in the august presence of Dr. Atul Kulkarni, Professor & Head Division of Critical care Medicine, TATA Memorial Hospital, Mumbai. Dr Anup Marar Director of Orange City Hospital And Research Institute introduced Dr Rajesh Atal as the President of AMS 2022-23.
The new team of AMS for 2022-23 includes, Imm. Past President Dr. Ravindra Sarniak, President Elect Dr. Ajay Ambade, Vice Presidents Dr. Sanjay Jain & Dr. Nainesh Patel, Treasurer Dr. Anuradha Ridhorkar, and Dr. Alankar Ramteke & Dr. Ashwini Tayde as Jt. Secretaries along with executive Committee members Dr. Ajay Deshpande, Dr. Atul Rewatkar, Dr. Mahesh Sarda, Dr. Satish Lahoti, Dr. Aniruddha Deoke, Dr. Avinash Gawande, Dr. Neeraj Baheti, Dr. Shailendra Anjankar, Dr. Archana Deshpande, Dr. Gauri Arora, Dr. Neha Agarwal, Dr. Vartika Patil, Dr. Arti Dharaskar, Dr. Himanshu Patil, Dr. Rajashree Khot and Dr. Vijay Verma. Dr. Raju Khandelwal was Chairman Installation Ceremony.Â
Traditional Presidential Oration elegantly delivered by President Dr. Rajesh Atal on “Sepsis Revisited†followed the installation. He spoke about various changes in the management of Sepsis.He also said that Sepsis accounts for 1 out of 5 deaths in general. Dr. Padmakar Somwanshi and Dr. Sanjay Jain were chairperson for the Oration . AMS members presented various interesting cases. Dr. Jay Deshmukh & Dr. Madan Kapre chaired the session. After that, Dr. Kapil Zirpe delivered the Golden Jubilee Oration and comprehensively spoke on “Past Present and Future of Critical careâ€. Chairperson for the session were Dr. Ramesh Mundle & Dr. Vishwas Dashputra. An enlightening lecture on “To Err is Human to Forgive Divine! But let us not do it- “Medical Errors†was given by Dr. Atul Kulkarni. Dr. P.P. Joshi & Dr. Kamal Bhutada were chairperson for this session.
Public awareness program of AMS “Dr. Tell Me About… Ventilator†in association with Gyan Yoddha Manch, Nagpur Mahila Club Jan Akrosh and Riddhi Siddhi Bahuudashya sanstha for common people got overwhelming response, where public interacted and cleared various myths about ventilator in a lucid interaction with group of expert panelist namely Dr. Kapil Zirpe, Dr.Atul Kulkarni, Dr. Rajesh Atal, Dr. Anand Dongre, Dr. Nirmal Jaiswal, Dr. Nandu Kolwadkar and Dr. Neha Goenka Agarwal. Dr. Ajay Deshpande, Dr. Aniruddha Deoke and Dr. Gauri Arora were Conveners while Dr. Aarti Dharaskar and Dr. Mahesh Sarda moderated this Public forum program.
Prominent among those present were Dr. Nikhil Balankhe and Dr. Satish Deshmukh who were the Scientific chairmen for the function Large number of medical brethren of city graced this installation ceremony and academic feast and abreast themselves with newer and innovative advancement in medical field. Dr. Himanshu Patil & Dr. Vartika Patil conducted the proceedings as masters of ceremony while Dr Nandu Kolwadkar proposed a vote of thanks.
