IND vs BAN 2nd Test: ‘Shirt Bhi Khol le Apna’, WATCH as animated Virat Kohli yells at Najmul Shanto for wasting time

During the second day of the IND vs. BAN 2nd Test, Virat Kohli screamed at Najmul Shanto for wasting time. The time-wasting actions of Bangladesh’s batter infuriated the former India captain, who decided to respond appropriately by violently gesturing to take off his jersey. The Bangladeshi opener’s strategy did not impress Kohli, who was heard yelling, “Shirt bhi khol le apna” (Open your shirt as well), as he began to tug on his jersey.

When Najmul Shanto began tying his shoelaces after the fifth delivery of the sixth over, which was when the umpires called for stumps, Kohli made the angry gesture seen in the viral video. While Kohli was positioned at the slips, Shanto was at the non-strikers’ end.

Shanto was observed wasting time in other instances as well. He decided to switch out his bat after Bangladesh began to bat in the second innings. The 12th man had numerous options as he entered the field, but he chose to stick with the player he was partnered with.

Recap of India vs Bangladesh 2nd Test Day 2

After losing its early starters, India was at one point down to 94/4. However, because they were cautious in their batting strategy, Shreyas Iyer and Rishabh Pant stabilised India’s innings. Iyer and Pant combined for 159 runs before neither player reached the three-figure mark. Iyer scored 87 points in the end, and Pant added 93.

With their disciplined bowling, Bangladesh’s bowlers prevented India from gaining more than 87 runs on them. In the first innings, Taijul Islam and Shakib Al Hasan each secured four wickets for Bangladesh. India took a respectable lead in the first innings of the current match at Mirpur after getting bowled out for 314 in their first innings.
