The famous Justa Causa National Law Festival of Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar Law College of Rashtrasant Tukadoji Maharaj Nagpur University will be held from January 27 to 29, according to the college’s officiating principal, Dr. Pravina Khobragade, during a press conference on Monday.
On January 27, the festival will be inaugurated by Justice Bhushan Gavai of the Supreme Court and Administrative Judge of the Nagpur Bench of the Bombay High Court, Justice Atul Chandurkar, at RTMNU’s conventional hall in Maharajbag Square.
Subhash Chaudhary, Vice Chancellor, will preside. The festival will conclude on January 29 with a press conference by Justice Rohit Deo of the Bombay High Court’s Nagpur Bench.
The theme for the Justa Causa this year is the ‘Law of Crimes’. Various competitions such as the Moot Court, Researches Test, National Seminar, National level debate contest by the name ‘Devil’ Attorney’, National Legal Drafting contest, National level quiz contest by the name ‘Justaquizza’, essay and crossword contest will be held during this legal festival.
A National seminar is being organized on the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences Act, 2012 (POCSC Act, 2012)on Saturday, January 28, 2023.
The keynote address will be delivered by the additional director general of police Sandeep Tamgadge of Nagaland. The speakers of the National Seminar are Former Principal Dr. Shrikant Komawar, Registrar, Amit Joshi of High Court, Chhaya Gurav from the Child Welfare department, DJ12 and ASJ R R Bhosle and Adv Dr. Renuka Sirpurkar.
As part of the Justa Causa, Bhonde memorial guest lecture series in memory of former college lecturer Vijay Bhonde. Senior lawyer Adv Firdos Mirza of the Bombay High Court in Nagpur will speak at this event.
The Moot final rounds shall be held on January 29 in the presence of Justice V Joshi and Justice A S Kilor of the Nagpur Bench of Bombay High Court.
