An offence has been registered against an unknown person for uploading pictures of the Chairperson of Maharashtra Women’s Commission Rupali Chakankar, on a pornographic website.
A complaint was lodged with the Inspector General of Police and the Cyber Cell of Pune is investigating the issue. The pictures were uploaded four days ago along with those of other women. The pictures and videos being circulated on social media have a picture of Chakankar. The person who uploaded the picture has not been identified as yet.
Chakankar is a Nationalist Congress Party leader. She was appointed Chairperson of the Women’s Commission.
Special IG Yashasvi Yadav is leading the investigation into the issue.
