In the context of cleanliness, the city of Nagpur has consistently taken steps forward. Various initiatives have been undertaken in the city to ensure cleanliness. In this regard, citizens are invited to participate in the “One Date, One Hour, Together” campaign on January 1, 2024, at 8 AM. The initiative, organized by the Nagpur Municipal Corporation, encourages citizens to contribute their voluntary efforts to make Nagpur cleaner, more beautiful, and healthier.
Following the nationwide ‘Swachhata Hi Seva’ campaign initiated by the Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs, Nagpur Municipal Commissioner and Administrator Dr. Abhijit Chaudhari, under his guidance, successfully conducted the “One Date, One Hour” initiative in Nagpur city on October 1. During this one-hour duration, cleanliness drives took place at 74 locations in the city through voluntary efforts.
Building on this momentum, the Nagpur Municipal Corporation has decided to continue the “One Date, One Hour, Together” campaign on the 1st of every month. The initiative is set to kick off on Monday, January 1, 2024, starting at 8 AM. Residents from all ten zones are encouraged to participate actively in this voluntary cleanup drive.
Under the guidance of Municipal Commissioner and Administrator Dr. Abhijit Chaudhari, the Nagpur Municipal Corporation (NMC) has launched a monthly cleanliness program. The initiative aims to clean unhygienic areas, maintain cleanliness, prevent re-contamination, beautify locations, and transform them into selfie points. Citizens, voluntary organizations, and students are encouraged to actively participate in this cleanliness campaign.
The responsibility of cleanliness at public places in the city lies with the Nagpur Municipal Corporation. However, citizens are urged to take responsibility for cleanliness in their homes, surroundings, colonies, and all such places to effortlessly contribute to making the city clean, beautiful, and healthy. Additional Commissioner Mrs. Anchal Goyal has also urged citizens to join hands in this initiative, expressing confidence that with collective efforts, homes, surroundings, and colonies can be maintained in a clean and healthy condition.
The cleanliness drive will be undertaken at following places:
- Lakshmi Nagar Zone: Kamgar Colony, Big Bazaar vicinity, and near IT Park.
- Dharampeth Zone: Corner of Children Traffic Park, Ward No. 15.
- Hanuman Nagar Zone: L.A.M.A. JAMA, Raghuji Nagar, Rij Road, Ward No. 31.
- Dhantoli Zone: Lakshavedh Maidan, near Narendra Nagar Over Bridge, Ward No. 35.
- Nehrunagar Zone: Near Sakkaradara Talao, Sonjhari Nagar, Division No. 30.
- Gandhibagh Zone: Barbatte Udyan, Vardhman Nagar.
- Satranjipura Zone: Near Bastarvari School, Division No. 21.
- Lakadganj Zone: Near Adarsh Nagar Nala, Vardhman Nagar, Deshpande Layout.
- Ashinagar Zone: Salim Sporting Club Ground, Near Ashinagar Zone Office, Division No. 7.
- Mangalwari Zone: Near Jinjer Malls, Jaripatka, Division No. 1.
