In a major crackdown, Umred Police have arrested a woman accused of operating a sex racket from a flat in Jindal Complex, located in the town near Nagpur. The action was taken following a tip-off, prompting officials to send a decoy customer to confirm the illegal activity.
Upon confirmation, police conducted a swift raid on April 20, during which one woman was rescued from the premises, believed to have been exploited in the operation.
According to investigators, the accused was allegedly paying ₹1,200 per client to the women involved in the racket.
The woman was produced in court and has been remanded to police custody till April 22 as authorities continue their probe to identify other individuals potentially connected to the network.
Police officials stated that further action will be taken based on information recovered during interrogation.
