Youth are the future of the nation. Every youth is an energy behind every developmental work. Let it be research in any field, developing technology, innovative ideas, entrepreneurship, revolutionising Start Ups, sustainable programmes or promoting social responsibility as a citizen of the nation. This was stated by Chief of the Staff Southern Command Lt Gen Manjit Kumar.
Lt Gen Manjit Kumar was speaking during the second part of the Convocation of RTM Nagpur University, at Guru Nanak Bhavan of the University on Friday. RTMNU VC Dr Subhash Chaudhari chaired the function to distribute medals and prizes to the meritorious students. Pro-VC Dr Sanjay Dudhe and Registrar Dr Raju Hiwase were present on the dais.
The nation is pinning hope on the youth for its bright future. A vast majority of youths are are looking for opportunities. Lt Gen Manjit Kumar said that the youth should prepare themselves for grabbing the opportunities offered to them. They should dream big, follow the dreams with determination and hard work and contribute to the development of the nation. At the same time they should maintain the dignity of the nation by remaining a respectable citizen of India.
Dr Dudhe made introductory remarks and informed the students about the activities of the University.
Pranay Anand Pawar of Dr Babasaheb Ambedkar Institute of Management Studies and Research, Deekahsbhoomi was awarded the highest seven gold medals for securing maximum marks in MBA examinations. Dnyaneshwar Bhagwat Neharkar, BALLB student from Dr Babasaheb Ambedkar College of Law, Deekshabhoomi received five gold medals and two prizes. Dr Madhukar Wasnik PWS College student Megha Tejwant Potdukhe was awarded five gold medals and a prize for standing at the top in the MA (Marathi) examination. Sachin Dev , ex-students in Buddhist Studies won five gold medals. Ajay Khobragade bagged four gold medals and a prize in excelling in MA in Dr Ambedkar Thoughts. Prachi Harish Trivedi of Department of Chemistry won three golds, Sneha Sanjay Wate of Department of Pharmaceutical Sciences bagged three gold medals.
A total of 142 gold medals, 8 silver medals and 25 prizes were given away to 101 students during the function. Besides academic achievements, 53 gold medals to 44 students from the university’s conducted departments were also given away.
Dr Amruta Indurkar conducted the proceedings.
GEN MANOJ PANDE: The chief guest for the programme was Chief of the Army Staff Gen Manoj Pande, who could not attend the programme as his flight was delayed due to inclement weather in Delhi. He assigned the job to Lt Gen Manjit Kumar to avoid any kind of delay in the programme.
