Police bomb disposal squad rush to the spot
An explosion inside Maharashtra’s Amravati Central Jail rattled the jail staff and police. The explosion in front of barrack number 6 and 7 around 8.30 pm on Saturday. The bomb disposal squad along with police personnel rushed to the spot. Amravati Police Commissioner Navin Chandra Reddi also visited the jail premises. Fortunately, none was injured in the explosion.
According to the Police Commissioner, a crude bomb or a firecracker in a rubber ball was thrown from a bridge near the central jail. The motive behind the blast is not clear.
A Forensic Science team also reached the spot and is investigating.
