Nagpur: Football, one of the city’s most beloved sports, has been excluded from this year’s Khasdar Krida Mahotsav (KKM) due to disagreements between the event organisers and the Nagpur District Football Association (NDFA).
The conflict arose after NDFA demanded complete control over all football-related events, including football, futsal, and inter-school matches, which were planned as part of the festival. However, KKM organisers insisted on including their own trusted personnel in the organising committee.
With neither side willing to compromise, the organisers decided to cancel football events altogether, leaving local players without the opportunity to showcase their talent.
The decision has disappointed the city’s football community, as the KKM platform has previously been a stage for young athletes to shine. However, no resolution appears in sight, and footballers will have to sit out this year’s edition of the multi-sport event.
