Nagpur’s Akshara Itankar, a Class X student from MKH Sancheti Public School, has been selected to attend the prestigious Pariksha Pe Charcha event with Prime Minister Narendra Modi in Delhi. She is one of only 100 students nationwide and just four from Maharashtra chosen for this honour.
Akshara’s path to the Pariksha Pe Charcha event involved a rigorous selection process by the Ministry of Education. Students across the country submitted videos asking insightful questions to the Prime Minister, with Akshara’s question standing out among tens of thousands. This earned her the rare opportunity to engage in a live interaction with PM Modi.
Reflecting on the experience, Akshara said, “We uploaded the video on January 18, but I didn’t expect anything to come of it. I had almost forgotten about it until the news arrived.” The breakthrough came on the evening of January 23 when Akshara’s school principal, Bindu Joseph, received a call from the State Education Department confirming her selection. Overwhelmed with joy, she immediately shared the news with Akshara’s mother.
Recalling the moment, Akshara said, “I couldn’t believe it at first. I was overjoyed beyond words. This is a dream come true.”
Principal Bindu Joseph praised Akshara’s achievement, calling it a moment of pride not just for the school but also for Nagpur. “To be selected for an event of such national importance reflects Akshara’s talent and hard work,” she said
Pariksha Pe Charcha is an annual event where Prime Minister Modi engages with students, offering advice and addressing their concerns about exams and education. Akshara’s participation is sure to inspire many young minds in Nagpur and beyond.
On Friday, Rohini Kumbhar, the District Education Officer, congratulated Akshara, stating, “She has brought immense pride and recognition to the entire Nagpur division.” Akshara, along with a school teacher, has been invited by the Ministry of Education to stay as their guest from January 25-29, during which she will also interact with the Prime Minister.
Akshara Itankar, who has hosted podcasts and created social media content, is now eagerly looking forward to meeting Prime Minister Modi in person and asking questions during the Pariksha Pe Charcha event.
