In a surprising development, the India vs. South Africa T20I match, originally slated for December 11, 2025, at Nagpur’s Vidarbha Cricket Association (VCA) Stadium, has been relocated to New Chandigarh. This venue change is part of the Board of Control for Cricket in India’s (BCCI) recently announced 2025 home season schedule.
The revised itinerary for South Africa’s tour of India is as follows:
Test Series:
• 1st Test: November 14–18, Arun Jaitley Stadium, New Delhi
• 2nd Test: November 22–26, Barsapara Cricket Stadium, Guwahati
ODI Series:
• 1st ODI: November 30, JSCA International Stadium Complex, Ranchi
• 2nd ODI: December 3, Shaheed Veer Narayan Singh International Cricket Stadium, Raipur
• 3rd ODI: December 6, ACA-VDCA Cricket Stadium, Visakhapatnam
T20I Series:
• 1st T20I: December 9, Barabati Stadium, Cuttack
• 2nd T20I: December 11, Maharaja Yadavindra Singh International Cricket Stadium, New Chandigarh
• 3rd T20I: December 14, Himachal Pradesh Cricket Association Stadium, Dharamsala
• 4th T20I: December 17, Ekana Cricket Stadium, Lucknow
• 5th T20I: December 19, Narendra Modi Stadium, Ahmedabad
The relocation of the December 11 match from Nagpur to New Chandigarh has disappointed many cricket enthusiasts in Nagpur, who were eagerly anticipating the international fixture at their home venue. The BCCI has not yet provided specific reasons for this change.
This adjustment is part of a broader schedule that not only features South Africa’s tour across Tests, ODIs, and T20Is but also includes hosting the West Indies for a two-match Test series in October 2025. Notably, Guwahati is set to host its maiden Test match during this season.
Cricket fans are advised to stay updated with the latest information from official BCCI announcements and the Vidarbha Cricket Association regarding ticketing and other match arrangements.
