Commuters are increasingly frustrated as the stretch from Law College Square to Coffee House Square witnesses massive traffic jams almost every single day. On Monday, the situation once again turned chaotic, with vehicles crawling for long durations. The congestion is primarily due to ongoing road work on both sides of Law College Square and the construction of a flyover on Amravati Road.

With no visible coordination between the Nagpur Municipal Corporation (NMC) and the Traffic Department, the problem has become routine. In the absence of traffic police personnel, the responsibility of managing traffic has been left to the security guards of the flyover contractor company.
Motorists complained that vehicles approaching from all four directions are forced to halt abruptly, leading to long queues and confusion. “We are stuck here almost every day now. There are no traffic cops, and the guards don’t know how to handle such heavy flow,” said a visibly irked commuter.
Another rider remarked, “Road works and flyover construction are necessary, but without proper traffic diversion and control, it’s becoming a nightmare. We lose time, fuel, and patience daily.”
Citizens have urged the authorities to deploy adequate traffic police and improve coordination to prevent such daily gridlocks, especially during peak hours.
