The “Solapur District Tourism Festival 2025”, organized by Solapur Social Foundation, will be held from September 27 (World Tourism Day) to October 2 (Mahatma Gandhi Jayanti). The attractive Logo of this ambitious festival was unveiled in Solapur on Monday by Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis. Guardian Minister Jaykumar Gore, MLA Subhash Deshmukh and several dignitaries from various fields were present at the occasion. Conceptualized by MLA and former Textile Minister Subhash Deshmukh, the festival is envisioned as a foundation for Solapur’s all-round development.
The objective of the festival is to ensure the holistic development of Solapur’s tourism sector and to promote historical, religious, cultural and rural tourism. The theme is based on the principle of “5-P Marketing Branding”, revolving around five key aspects – Places, Personalities, Products, Placement, and Pollution-free Environment.
The first P stands for ‘Places’ depicting district’s religious, cultural, industrial, and rural tourism glory. ‘Personalities’ from various sectors including Solapur’s artists, researchers, progressive farmers, entrepreneurs that will project districts’s leadership at state and international level. ‘Products’ that stand for third P will have Solapur ‘s local cuisine, agricultural produce, industrial goods to showcase it’s distinctive identity. ‘Placement’ stands for employment generation for youth while the last P stands for ‘Pollution-free Environment’ through tree plantation and environmental conservation. This comprehensive and inclusive vision throug ‘5-P branding’ aims to transform Solapur into a strong tourism brand.
Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis, who was on a tour of Solapur city, lauded the concept and unveiled the logo of the festival. Guardian Minister Jaykumar Gore, MLAs Vijaykumar Deshmukh, Sachin Kalyanshetti, Devendra Kothe, Samadhan Avatade, Ranjitsinh Mohite-Patil, District Collector Kumar Aashirwad, Commissioner Dr. Sachin Ombase, and several dignitaries were present.
Solapur Tourism Brand to Rise Nationwide
Speaking on the occasion, Shri Subhash Deshmukh said that this festival will provide a new platform to showcase Solapur’s tourism potential and will boost the economy of both rural and urban areas. “It will create tourism awareness among school and college students, connect local citizens to tourism activities, give market access to local industries and women’s self-help groups, and accelerate employment generation. As a result, Solapur’s tourism brand will rise across Maharashtra and the nation,” he said.
On this occasion, Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis praised the festival’s vision and assured full cooperation from the state government.
