Ahead of its flagship Big Billion Days sale, Flipkart announced the creation of over 2.2 lakh seasonal jobs across its supply chain, logistics, and last-mile delivery network, with a strong focus on Tier 2 and Tier 3 cities.The e-commerce giant said 15% of the new hires are first-time workforce entrants, with roles ranging from pickers and packers to sorters and delivery executives. Hiring of women, persons with disabilities, and LGBTQIA+ associates has also increased compared to last year.
To strengthen festive operations, Flipkart is setting up 650 new delivery hubs in cities including Siliguri, Kundli, and Jakhar, in addition to expanding its logistics network that covers all serviceable pincodes in India.Flipkart has also been investing in skilling through its Supply Chain Operations Academy (SCOA), which has trained thousands so far and aims to upskill 10,000 more associates by the end of 2025. Over 6,000 students pursuing graduation have already received training in supply chain operations.
“We have strengthened our capabilities ahead of the festive season, focusing on inclusivity, supply chain expansion, and creating lasting value for communities and partners,” said Seema Nair, Flipkart’s Chief Human Resources Officer.
