After the privatization of Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar International Airport, indications suggest that flight operations may see a notable rise by the end of December. According to informed sources, Akasa Air has already secured a time slot at Nagpur Airport and is expected to begin services to either Pune or Bengaluru.
Air India Express is also gearing up to launch a Nagpur–Navi Mumbai flight early in the new year. The airline is further considering routes to Bengaluru, Delhi, and several other destinations. Under the UDAN scheme, Nagpur is likely to receive enhanced regional connectivity.
Expectations are high that Regional Connectivity Scheme (RCS) flights may soon commence from Nagpur to Raipur, Bhopal, and Patna. In addition, one cargo service and at least two new international flights are likely to be introduced in the coming year.
