The night landing facilities at Amravati’s Airport is expected to be started in April this year. The Airport Authority of India has been working hard to meet the target of completion March 2026. The work on expansion of the airstrip is also in progress. The traffic of ATR-72 aircraft, however, continues during the work. Manager of Amravati Airport Gaurav Upsham said the facility is getting good response from the travellers.
Extension of runway and night landing facilities were the major issues of discussion during the meeting of Maharashtra Airports Development Company held recently. Tenders for extension work were opened on February 10.
The improved facilities will help in increasing business connectivity, and tourism in the region.
The work on facilitating night lending is in progress for the last three months. It will be operational after clearance from the Director General of Civil Aviation, Upsham has stated.
