The Maharashtra government on Friday made Marathi compulsory for hearings and all orders issued by authorities in quasi-judicial proceedings under the Revenue Department.
Revenue Minister Chandrashekhar Bawankule announced a new standard operating procedure (SOP) for conducting such proceedings.
The government has issued a 29-page resolution outlining the procedures to be followed in quasi-judicial cases filed before revenue officers. “Under the guidance of Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis, we intend to make the revenue administration more citizen-centric and dynamic,” Bawankule said.
