Four women were killed in a tiger attack in the Gunjewahi forest area under the Sindewahi forest range in Maharashtra’s Chandrapur district on Friday morning.
According to forest department sources, the incident occurred around 8 am when the women had gone into the forest to collect tendu leaves in the Gunjewahi area. During the collection activity, a tiger allegedly attacked the group, resulting in the death of all four women on the spot.
Forest officials and local police rushed to the area after receiving information about the incident. Further investigation and search operations are underway.
The identities of the deceased women are yet to be officially confirmed.
