The Cockroach Janta Party (CJP) on Wednesday held a press conference in the national capital, just hours after announcing three new spokespersons, reiterating its call for a nationwide protest on June 6 over alleged irregularities and paper leaks in major competitive examinations, including CBSE, NEET, and CUET.
The press conference was addressed by the newly appointed spokespersons—Saurav Das, Vijeta Dahiya, and Ashutosh Ranka—who outlined the plans for the proposed demonstration and appealed to students and citizens to participate in large numbers.
The protest call, originally issued by CJP founder Abhijeet Dipke, has since gained wider attention following support from climate activist Sonam Wangchuk. In a social media post on Tuesday, Wangchuk said he would join the protest in Delhi if no corrective action was taken by June 5, adding that those responsible should be held accountable given the impact on millions of students.
Ahead of the protest, CJP formally introduced its new communications team, naming investigative journalist Saurav Das as Chief Spokesperson, while Vijeta Dahiya and Ashutosh Ranka were appointed as spokespersons.
According to the organisation, Das has extensive experience reporting on legal, judicial, and social issues and has also been associated with public campaigns, including anti-pollution protests in New Delhi in 2025.
Vijeta Dahiya, a writer, content creator, and filmmaker, has previously worked on research and content projects across digital media platforms and is the author of books including Power of Universe and To Hell With That Job.
Ranka, an alumnus of the Indian Institute of Technology Kanpur and the London School of Economics, previously worked as a consultant with McKinsey & Company in London. Since returning to India in 2025, he has been involved in campaigns related to environmental, educational, and youth issues.
Following the announcement, Ranka also confirmed his association with the movement and expressed support for its campaign.
