Comprehensive Health Screening and Specialist Consultations for Officers, Staff and Their Families
Shalinitai Meghe Hospital, Hingna Road, Nagpur, organised a free health check-up camp for the officers, staff and their families at Nagpur Central Jail. The camp was held at Mangalmurti Lawn, Prison Colony, Nagpur. The initiative was conducted under the guidance of Mr. Suhas Warke, Additional Director General of Police and Inspector General of Prisons and Correctional Services, Maharashtra State, Pune; Mr. Yogesh Desai, Special Inspector General of Prisons and Correctional Services, Maharashtra State, Pune; and Mr. Vaibhav S. Age, Superintendent of Nagpur Central Jail and Deputy Inspector General of Prisons, Eastern Region, Nagpur.
The camp offered a range of health services, including Eye Chek-up, Blood Pressure Monitoring, Blood Sugar Testing, ECG, Bone Mineral Density, Mammography. Additionally, Specialist doctors from the departments of General Medicine, Obstetrics and Gynecology (OBGY), Orthopedics, ENT, Psychiatry and Ophthalmology examined the attendees and provided medical advice and necessary treatment.
Prison officers and staff perform essential duties and often face manpower shortages, leaving them with limited time to focus on their own health and that of their families. The health camp was therefore organized to help ensure their well-being and maintain good health while carrying out their responsibilities.
During the programme, Rotary Club of North Nagpur provided medical equipment for the treatment of inmates at Nagpur Central Jail. The donated items included a BP apparatus, stethoscope, thermometer, infrared lamp, forceps, glucometer, ortho hammer, pulse oximeter and IV sets.
The programme was attended by Mr. Vaibhav S. Age, Superintendent; Mrs. Deepa Age, Additional Superintendent; Dr. Rameshwar Kokurde, Chief Medical Officer; Mr. Manohar Bhosale, Senior Jail Officer; Mr. Vaman Nimje, Jail Officer Grade-I; Mr. Vineet Dara, President of Rotary Club of North Nagpur; Mr. Swapnil Band, Secretary; Mr. Shyam Wadhwani, Medical Director; Dr. Ashwin Radke, OSD, Shalinitai Meghe Hospital, Nagpur; Mr. Rajiv Varbhe, Chairman (Tribal Programmes, Rotary); Medical Officers Dr. Pradeep Patil, Dr. Datta Jude, Dr. Vineet Rathod, Dr. Tanvi Prosth and Dr. Tejas; social workers Mr. Dhanpal Meshram and Mrs. Meena Latkar, along with a large number of Jail officers, staff and their family members.
