Nagpur District Collector Kumar Ashirwad on Thursday reviewed preparations for the National Eligibility-cum-Entrance Test (NEET) scheduled to be held on June 21, directing officials to ensure the examination is conducted smoothly and without inconvenience to candidates.
A total of 12,512 students from the district are expected to appear for the examination. The review meeting was held at the Planning Building and was attended by City Coordinator Principal Arvind Singh Thakur, Principal Firoz Khan, senior officials of the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) and Central Industrial Security Force (CISF), along with examination centre heads.
The Collector instructed authorities to ensure adequate lighting in examination halls, proper seating arrangements, backup power through generators, availability of drinking water, and all necessary safety measures at examination centres. Institutions hosting the examination have been directed to make comprehensive arrangements for the comfort and security of candidates.
To prevent any untoward incidents and maintain the integrity of the examination process, extensive security arrangements have been put in place. Fourteen examination centres will be guarded by CRPF personnel along with local police, while the remaining sixteen centres will be secured by CISF personnel and police.
District officials said all necessary measures are being taken to ensure the smooth, fair and secure conduct of the NEET examination across Nagpur.
