The Enforcement Department of the Nagpur Municipal Corporation (NMC) carried out a coordinated day-long anti-encroachment drive across several commercial areas of the city on Wednesday. The operation was conducted under the supervision of Deputy Commissioner Mangesh Khawale and Assistant Commissioner Sanjay Kamble, with dedicated teams removing illegal stalls and shops that had encroached on roads and footpaths.
In Sitabuldi, Teams 1 and 3 cleared encroachments along the stretch from Main Road to Variety Chowk. Team 2 conducted action on Hampyard Road, Ganeshpeth Colony, Baidyanath Chowk and Great Nag Road, seizing eight small stalls, one large stall and two truckloads of unauthorised material.
Meanwhile, Teams 4 and 5 carried out a similar drive in the Mahal area, covering Mahal Chowk, Badkas Chowk, KD Bag Road, Gadkari Wada and Kalyaneshwar Temple. During the operation, officials removed and confiscated eight dummy display structures that were obstructing pedestrian movement, ensuring footpaths were cleared for public use.
