The Sports Authority of India (SAI) will launch a Khelo India Training Centre (KITC) at the Rashtrasant Tukadoji Maharaj Nagpur University (RTMNU) Sports Complex to train young athletes in Athletics, Badminton, Handball, and Basketball for both boys and girls.
Selection trials for these four sports will be held from July 20 to 22 at the RTMNU Sports Complex, Ravi Nagar. A total of 15 boys and 15 girls will be selected in each sport. Players aged 10 to 15 years are eligible to participate, said Dr. Sambhaji Bhosale, Director of the Department of Sports and Physical Education, RTMNU.
The initiative aims to provide scientific training to talented young athletes and help them prepare for national and international competitions, including the Olympics.
Interested players can register at the office of the Director, Department of Sports and Physical Education, Ravi Nagar, from July 13 to 18, between 11 am and 4 pm. Participants must bring their original birth certificate issued by the Gram Panchayat, Nagar Parishad or NMC, Aadhaar card, school/college or sports organisation ID, two passport-size photographs, and a valid medical fitness certificate.
