The Academy of Cancer Sciences (ACS), Nagpur is a professional association of cancer care specialists dedicated to advancing oncology through academic excellence, research, continuous medical education, multidisciplinary collaboration, and public awareness. The Academy regularly organizes scientific conferences, educational programmes, workshops, and community outreach initiatives to enhance professional knowledge, promote cancer prevention and early detection, and improve access to quality cancer care for patients across Vidarbha and Central India.
The Academy of Cancer Sciences (ACS), Nagpur will hold its Installation Ceremony for the newly elected Governing Body for the 2026–2028 term on Sunday, 26 July 2026, at 9:00 AM at Hotel Centre Point, Ramdaspeth, Nagpur.
During the ceremony, Dr. Sushil Mandhaniya will assume office as the President, while Dr. Amol Dongre will be installed as the Honorary Secretary, along with the newly elected Executive Committee members.
The ceremony will be graced by Padma Shri Dr. Abhay Bang, renowned social activist and Director of SEARCH, Gadchiroli, as the Chief Guest. Dr. Shripad D. Banavali, Former Dean (Academics), Tata Memorial Hospital, Mumbai, will attend as the Guest of Honour.
The installation will be followed by a comprehensive scientific programme featuring thesis presentations, keynote lectures, the Presidential Oration, a public forum, and discussions on contemporary developments in oncology. Eminent cancer surgeons, physicians, radiation oncologists, researchers, and healthcare professionals from across Vidarbha and other parts of the country are expected to participate.
Cancer continues to be one of the fastest-growing health challenges worldwide, with the number of patients increasing every year. Recognising the urgent need for greater awareness, early diagnosis, multidisciplinary treatment, and patient support, the Academy remains committed to strengthening professional collaboration and promoting evidence-based cancer care. Through scientific education, research, and community outreach initiatives, the Academy aims to contribute towards reducing the burden of cancer and improving treatment outcomes.
