President of India has accepted the resignation of Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan from the Union Council of Ministers with immediate effect, following the advice of Prime Minister, Rashtrapati Bhavan announced on Saturday.
According to an official press communiqué issued by the President’s Secretariat, the resignation has been accepted under Clause (2) of Article 75 of the Constitution of India.
The President has also, on the advice of the Prime Minister, directed that Union Cabinet Minister Pralhad Joshi be assigned the additional charge of the Ministry of Education, along with his existing portfolio.
The changes take effect immediately, the communiqué said.
