Let’s talk Beauty and Wellness in Nagpur summers

Nagpur summers are upon us and as much as we love the long summer days, we cannot escape the intense heat, long standing sun rays and the dryness that comes with it. Most of us do address the heat and the sun part, but what almost all of us miss out on is how important moisturizing our skin is and it’s exactly what we don’t do often.

Nagpur’s very own women entrepreneur Riddhi Deshmukh also shares the same concern. She says, sitting in the AC for hours at a stretch renders her skin extremely dry and sometimes flaky. Riddhi mentions and emphasizes that moisturizing the skin is a must be it summer, winter or rains.

Because warmer weather brings different concerns (like tanning or burning), we have rounded up a few must-know beauty, health and wellness tips that will help you have your most gorgeous summer yet.

1.Sunscreen

Do not forget to wear your sunscreen every day. Apply generously and don’t forget to reapply it after every couple of hours. Since, Nagpur has a lot of college goers and most of them drive two wheelers, we see a lot of young girls covering their faces with face scarves to protect the harsh sun and dust. Sanskruti Bijoria, a young college student, says that while her face does get the protection from the sun and dust, she still gets a tan in the summer even with the scarf on. Dermatologists suggest that you must wear a sunscreen and then wear the face scarf to ward off those UV rays

2.Skin Care

Sasha Kale, Nagpur’s leading beauty guru, recommends trying oil free products. In her opinion, these products are designed not to clog pores (which can lead to irritation and blemishes). This is especially important in summer: hot and humid weather leads to sweat, which takes a longer time to evaporate off your skin, and combining that with oily products isn’t exactly a party for your pores. Go the oil-free route to ward off pimples.

3. Hair

Invest in a good shampoo and since, most of us have coloured hair nowadays, make sure you wash your hair with a shampoo which has colour protection. Try and not blow dry your hair too much in summers. Let them air dry.

4. Summer Foods

Forget Nagpur’s pride-Saoji for a few weeks and reach out for those watermelons and oranges guys! Let the following be your summer pick this season.

  • Grab seasonal fruits and vegetables and include them in your daily diet
  • Downsize your meal portions
  • Eat more cooling foods
  • Choose fresh juices over cold drinks
  • Binge on lighter snacks
  • Hygiene is the key to a healthy body

Rock this summer in a healthier and a blissful way and why not!
