Vidarbha beat UP by ten runs

Vidarbha defeated Uttar Pradesh by ten runs to record their second victory in the super league state of Syed Mushtaq Ali T-20 Cricket Tournament match at Emeraldn Height Ground in Indore on Sunday.

UP won the toss and decided to field first. Viarbha scored 143  for seven wickets in 20 overs. Opening pair Atharwa Taide (41, 37 b, 3×4, 2×6) and wicketkeeper batsman Jitesh Sharma (22, 19b, 1×4, 2×6) once again gave flying start to Vidarbha by making 52 run partnership for first wicket. After departure of Sharma in form batsman Shalabh Shtivastava 23 (24 b, 1×4) played sensibly. Ravi Jangid remained not out on 19. His valuable knock included two fours and one six in 10 balls. For UP, Mohsin Khan and Ankit Choudhary claimed two wickets each.

In reply, UP tried their best but missed the target by te runs. They could able to score 133 for nine in 20 overs. Opener Samarth Singh top scored with 39 whereas his partner smashed 11-ball 26. Captain Akashdeep Nath (17) and Ankit Choudhary (16) were other scorers.

For Vidarbha, left arm pacer Shrikant Wagh claimed two wickets for 24 runs whereas Akshay Karnewar got two for 29. Ravi Jangid, Akshay Wakhare and Ganesh Satish took one wicket each.
