Senior citizen arrested for trying to kill wife

Beltarodi police have arrested one Purushottam Namdeorao Hingnekar (65), a resident of Plot No 9, Krishi Nagar Society, Manish Nagar for trying to kill his wife Pushpa.

According to complaint lodged by Purushottam’s daughter-in-law Preeti (32), Purushottam always suspected that his wife Pushpa (55) would kill him by giving poison in his food.

On Thursday, Purushottam in a fit of anger allegedly attacked Pushpa’s head with hammer with an intention to kill her, said Preeti in her complaint. Leaving injured Pushpa, Purushottam left the house. On the basis of Preeti’s complaint, police registered an offence under section 307 of the IPC and arrested Purushottam. Further investigations are on.

Youth arrested on assault charges

Gittikhadan police arrested one Jitu Vilasrao Nevare (26), resident of Sai Nagar Dabha on assault charges. According to complaint lodged by Sunil Laxmanrao Bagadte (49), a resident of the same locality, Jeetu abused Sunil’s daughter and nephew. When Sunil’s brother Ashok Bagadte tried to intervene, Jeetu allegedly manhandled him and attacked him with sword. Ashok sustained injuries on the left side of his face.

Sunil then lodged a complaint with the police. On the basis of the complaint, Gittikhadan police registerd an offence under section 326 of IPC against Jeetu. Assistant Police Inspector Kokode in investigating further.

Cops nab absconding accused

Ganeshpeth police arrested one Kishore Lahanuji Thakur (57), a resident Prince Complex, Chhatrapati Square, Wardha under the jurisdiction of Pratap Nagar police station, who was wanted in several cases of cheating the investors.

He was at large since 2003 and was booked under sections 420, 406 and 34 of IPC and other sections of Maharashtra Protection of Interest of Depositors Act 1999. According to police, Thakre had duped several investors in 2005 and 2019.

He would lure the prospective investors assuring them of attractive returns. After collecting amount from them, he absconded and was wanted by the police since 2003. On Thursday, the Ganeshpeth police got a tip off about Thakre’s whereabouts. The cops then laid a trap and arrested him.

The action was carried out by PSI Ulhas Rathod, ASI Vijay Barde, constable Kishore Suryavanshi, NPCs Sheshrao Wandhive, Sanatosh Tekam, constables Rajesh Yadav, Suryakant Ingle under the guidance of Senior Police Inspector Sunil Gangurde, ACP Rajratan Bansod and DCP Zone III Rahul Maknikar.
