Shyamkuwar wins chess crown

YM Shyamkuwar emerged the champion in 6th Kamal Kumar Barat Memorial NDCA Veteran 45+ Chess Tournament 2019  that was organised by Nagpur District Chess Association at DNC, Congress Nagar here on Sunday.
Shyamkuwar earned highest six points in six round tournament to win the title. He was followed by VK Shrivastava (5.5, 31) and Vijay Thakur   (5.5, 29.5) for the second and third place respectively.
In the last round Shyamkuwar overpowered Dilip Chepte and thus remained unbeaten in the tournament. On second board, VK Shrivastava and Anzar Ahmad Khan settled to a draw whereas Vijay Thakur outwitted Pramod Dhamgaye.
NDCA president Dilip Kamdar distributed the prize in the presence of  Kaustav Barat, sponsor and grand son of late Kamal Kumar Barat, NDCA secretary K K Barat, organising secretary Umesh Panbude and chief arbiter Shrikant Bagde.
Final ranking: 1. Shyamkuwar YM (6,30), 2. Srivastava V K (5.5, 31), 3. Thakur  Vijay (5.5, 29.5), 4. Chepte (5, 27.5), 5. Anzar Ahmad Khan (5, 27), 6. Wasnik Virag (5, 25.5), 7. Kantode NB (4.5, 30.5), 8. Dhamgaye Pramod  (4.5, 29), 9. Agre Virag (4.5, 27), 10. Ramteke P J (4.5, 24).
