Gajbhiye memorial chess tourney begins

The CG Gajbhiye Memorial Nagpur District Under-15 Open and Girls Selection Chess Championship, organized by Telecom Engineering Housing Society began at the Dhanwate National College Indoor Hall here on Friday.

In the open category, top seed Ojas Khamele, second seed Mayank Ranade, third seed Rujul Shinde and fourth seed Prerak Darvekar all posted victories to get full points in the open section.

Similarly in the girls’ category top seed Aashi Dalal, second seed Krishna Taori, third seed Riddhi Palorkar made light work of their respective opponents.

Earlier, the tourney was inaugurated by Mohandas Naidu, president, Sanjay Purohit, secretay, Diganbar Khandekar, treasurer, Telecom Engineering Co. Housing Society, and Pravin Pantawane, the chief arbiter.
