Om wins 100 m gold, Mitali bags bronze

Om Wins 100 M Gold, Mitali Bronze 2000 m race | Nagpur Sports News

City’s Om Itkelwar clinched a gold medal in 100 m race in the Under-14 category whereas Mitali Bhoyar bagged bronze in Under-16 2000 m race in Maharashtra State Junior Athletics Championship organised by Ratnagiri District Athletics Association at Dervan on Saturday.

In the under-14 boy’s section, om Itkelwar, a student of Pandit Baccharaj Vyas Vidyalaya clocked 12.34 second to win the gold medal. In preliminary rounds, he was on top position. In the same race, Nagpur’s Sandeep Gond won a silver medal with a timing of 12.51 seconds.

Mitali Bhoyar, who is also the student of Pandit Baccharaj Vyas Vidyalaya secured bronze medal in 2,000 m with a timing 6.56.81 seconds. She has been trained under the guidance of Jitendra Ghordadekar.

In the under-14 girl’s section, Akansha Soudia and Chaitali Borkar entered the 600 m final. Dadoji Konddeo awardee Bhau Kane, Dhananjay Kane, Vaishali Chatare, Prashant Jagtap, Shirish Bhagat, Charulala Naigaonkar and others have congratulated the athletes.
