A community grows through vision of its leaders and not quota system: Nitin Gadkari

It is wrong to assume that any community can develop through the system of reservation, though the government is not against the quota system for the downtrodden sections of society. The community grows through the vision of the members of society. This is the vision given by Mahatma Phule to the entire mankind, said Union Minister Nitin Gadkari.

Gadkari was speaking at the inauguration of all India mega-conference of the Mali community that was held at Suresh Bhat auditorium. Uttar Pradesh Deputy Chief Minister Keshav Prasad Maurya presided over the conference. Energy Minister Chandrashekhar Bawankule, Mayor Nanda Jichkar were the chief guests.

He was accompanied by former state minister Balasaheb Shivarkar, ex-MLA Krishnakant Ingale, ex-MLA Vasantrao Maldure, Dr. Keshavrao Yavalkar, former MLA Ashok Mankar, vice-president of the organization Gulab Chikate, Sheshrao Umap, Prakash Maurya, Ashok Mankar, president of organisation Arun Pawar were present.

Gadkari said, “Great personalities don’t belong to any community. They stand for the entire mankind and are followed by the whole society. Social organizations should follow their noble principles. Phule introduced the concept of social development. Educational, social and economic development should be the aim of any community.

The people of the community should come forward for their development. It is not the caste that matters but the work of the individual. He appealed that knowledge would be a major force in the coming days, so follow the path laid out by Mahatma Phule-Savitribai Phule.

Uttar Pradesh Deputy Chief Minister Keshav Prasad Maurya said, “Unity of the community is important. Any social work becomes successful when we are united.

He praised the event, saying that unity has come from the community in Nagpur. Mentioning that it is currently election time, he said, people worship the rising star. Although it is essential for the development of the community, we need to maintain our values and the teachings of the community.

Prof. Arun Pawar explained the purpose behind holding the conference. He said that society needs political representation and expressed its desire for unity of the society. He also made various demands on the occasion of the conference. Former MLA Vasantrao Maldure, Balasaheb Shivarkar, Prakash Maurya and others were present on the occasion. Dr. Keshavrao Yavalkar was felicitated on the occasion. The conference was attended by a large number of people from all over the state including Maharashtra.
