Vidarbha beat Maharashtra by 18 runs

Vidarbha defeated  Maharashtra by 18 runs in Vinoo Mankad trophy match at MPCA Ground, Shankarpur in  Gwalior on Wednesday. Vidarbha won the toss and elected to bat first. They scored  263 for 8 in 50 overs. Aman  Mokhade slammed 92 in 114 balls with the help of seven boundaries and two sixes. He made 72 run partnership for second wicket with Shivam D (30). Sandesh Durugkar (42, 52b, 1×4, 1×6), Mandar Mahale (39, 52b 3×4) and Prerit Agrawal (37, 25b, 3×4) also batted well.

For Maharashtra, S Churi and Y Mangwani shared six wickets between them. In reply, Maharashtra were restricted to 245 for 8 in 50 overs.  S Veer’s unbeaten 102 in 99 balls hitting three sixes and eight boundaries.went in vain. He and H Kate (64, 74b, 8×4) made 127 run partnership for fourth wicket after losing three wickets for just 72. Finally, Manan Doshi broke the threatening partnership with 199 runs were on board. Then rest of the batsmen didn’t sustain for long time. Opening batsman A Nalavade contributed 40. For Vidarbha, Manan Dosi (2 for 39), Harsh Dubey (2 for 51) were the main wicket-takers. Rahul Dongarwar and Mandar Mahale too bowled well and got one each.
