Nishit Rahane won doubles title and also entered the singles final in MSLTA Yonex Sunrise NDHTA Under- 16 All India Ranking Championship Series Tennis Tournament 2019 at Ram Nagar court, here on Thursday.

In the boys doubles finals played the Pune pair of Arnav Kokane – Rahane were strongly and beat Tanishq Jadhav -Anmol Nagpure pair in straight sets 6-4, 7-6 (2) with ease. However, what was worth noticing was the stroke play, with both sides hitting hard and with accuracy.

In the girls doubles finals the Raipur pair of Pakhi Bhat and Samriddhi Singh held their nerves and overcame a tough challenge from Mumbai pair of Suhani and Harshri and took away the trophy in a tiebreaker third set 6-3, 4-6, 10-3.

In the boys singles evennt top seed Tanishq Jadhav took the first set in tiebreak due to stiff resistance from Arnav Kokane, and even dropped the second set as Arnav came back strongly. In the third set, Tanishq raised his game and displayed his trademark flying forehand smash that almost took him to the finals, but a muscle injury brought him down.

After a brief halt where he attended to his injury, he resumed his match and derived strength from the divine, and ended victorious to go to the finals. In the other semifinal, fourth seed Nishit Rahane took the match away from his opponent Eshan Degamwar in straight sets overcoming some initial resistance.
