Five city girls to represent Maharashtra in school nationals basketball

As many as five city girls will be part of the 12-member Maharashtra girls team in the School National Basketball Championship slated to be played at Satara from December 11.

The U-17 girls national tournament is organized by the School Games Federation of India (SGFI). All the five city girls are undergoing preparatory camp at Satara.The selected girls include Siya Deodhar, Shomira Bidaye, Dhara Phate, Saee Deshmukh and Krupaee Sharma. All these girls were selected in the state team from the selection trials held recently at Pune.While Siya and Shomira are members of Shivaji Nagar Gymkhana (DNG), Saee and Krupaee practice at the Vision Academy and Dhara plays at Dharampeth Krida Mandal (DKM).

All the selected players are being congratulated by president of Nagpur District Basketball Association (NDBA) and city Mayor Sandip Joshi, secretary Bhavesh Kuchanwar and all the members of the district body.
