A happy news for the state government employees as today the Maharashtra government announced five-day working week. As per information, the decision was taken at the state Cabinet meeting.
The decision taken by state government employees will come into effect from February 29.
At present, employees working for the Government of Maharashtra get second and fourth Saturdays off every month. This decision was mainly aimed at increasing the productivity and efficiency of the employees, and also to reduce absenteeism at the workplace.
There are over 20 lakh officers and employees in government, semi-government and local bodies in the state.
