Patariya fashion Lokmat victory

Nitin Patariya’s all-round performance and Pravin Lokhande’s explosive batting helped Lokmat to drub Tarun Bharat by huge margin of 134 runs in 22nd OCW-SJAN Inter-Press Cricket Tournament at Ambedkar College ground, here on Wednesday.

The tournament has been organised in association with SBI and HCL Technologies. Batting first Lokmat piled up the highest total of the season 220 for three in 20 overs. Thanks to Lokhande who slammed unbeaten 80 in 38 balls hitting ten boundaries and three sixes.

Patariya sent rival bowlers on a leather hunt and hammered 37-ball 68. His knock was studded with six sixes and five boundaries. Skipper Amit Khodke too batted well and scored 30.
In reply, Tarun Bharat lost their wickets at regular intervals and was bowled out for a paltry 86. Only Dinesh Borkar (20) and Nitin Baitule (16) showed some resistance.

For Lokmat batting hero Patariya claimed three wickets for just four runs. Secretary of Royal Cricket Association Irfan Razzaq and vice-president Murli Udasi gave the man-of-the-match prize to Nitin Patariya.

Brief scores

Lokmat: 220 for 3 in 20 overs (Pravin Lokhande 80*, Nitin Patariya 68. Amit Khodke 30, Sharad Mishra 12, Shree Panchbhai, Lakhan Jaiswal and Nitin Baitule one wicket each).
